JAC, one of China's top 10 automakers, exported 500 light trucks to Brazil on Friday, marking the country's single largest auto contract to the South American nation.

Jianghuai Automobile Co Ltd, founded in 1964, made 40 billion yuan ($6.3 billion) in selling 500,000 autos in 2011.

At a delivery ceremony of JAC light trucks to Brazil, Yu Cairong, JAC's deputy general manager and general manager of JAC International, said the new shipment showcased China's outstanding commercial vehicles and signaled JAC's success in gaining a stronghold in the Brazilian market.

Yu said the company's products are sold in more than 100 countries and regions in the world.

Oscar Yu, head of JAC International's light commercial vehicle department, said JAC's auto exports to Brazil - the fourth-largest car market in the world - reached 37,725 units last year.

After JAC began exploring the Brazilian market in 2009, it began working with SHC Group, one of Brazil's largest auto dealers, in 2011.

JAC President An Jin said that with more than 100 car dealerships and 13 plants overseas, JAC aims to achieve sales of 1.6 million units with revenue of 100 billion yuan by the end of 2015.

Marcos Santos, an SHC Group representative who came to Hefei for the ceremony, said SHC - with a history of 25 years in Brazil - is proud of its cooperation with JAC and hopes to see better opportunities in the future.

The 500 light trucks signaled a major opportunity for JAC in Brazil and also exhibited JAC's advanced technology, he said.

Jean-Claude Moyen, sales director of ZF Drivetech (Hangzhou) Co Ltd, said at the ceremony that as a great nation, China will certainly see success in Brazil.

The 500 light trucks being exported to Brazil use ZF-designed technology. ZF is a multinational company based in Germany with 121 plants in 27 countries worldwide with a staff of 72,000.
