Should preschool children be allowed on the internet?

Alcohol is addictive, but if we teach our children how to manage drinking alcohol in a sensible and responsible manner then it is no longer a threat, the same applies to most things in life including the use if the internet.
Why should a tiny minority screw up internet access for the majority who are responsible, who use the internet for research as well as social interaction.
Instead of blaming the internet for creating addicts, blame the parents for not being a good example, teaching is, and always will be, the best solution to such problems.
