Fang Xiaolong, 54, makes lotus root-shaped candies that have 73 holes. This special candy, which has been listed as an intangible heritage by East China's Anhui province, generates 300,000 yuan revenue in just three months.

Three months ahead of China's Lunar New Year, Fang starts making this candy and all of it is sold out quickly. Some even complain that the supply is too short.

However, Fang says he once used two machines to speed up manufacturing, but his sister got injured so returned to the traditional process. Fang produces 10 tons of candies and sells them at 30 yuan per kilo. Let us take a look.
