China goes running: Races held all over country | Updated: 2018-04-16 10:08

Editor’s note: On April 15, a number of marathon and half-marathon races were held simultaneously throughout China. Enjoy these photos from the events!

More than 20,000 athletes from 32 countries and regions took part in the annual Beijing International Running Festival on Sunday, starting from Tian'anmen Square and ending at the Olympic Green. Li Chunhui and Ma Yugui won the men's and women's half marathons in 1:06.02 and 1:16.44 respectively. Six hundred families also took part in the family fun run. The festival, also known as the Beijing Run, is one of the oldest in China, having debuted in 1956. WEI XIAOHAO/CHINA DAILY
