Oracle-bone inscriptions were included in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in October 2017. They are the earliest documentary evidence found in China, providing records of divinations and prayers to the gods from people in the late Shang Dynasty. Over time, the inscriptions have developed into modern-day Chinese characters, showing the continuous evolution of Chinese civilization. [Photo/VCG]
