The Museum of Death

Although its name may sound a little grim and gloomy, the Museum of Death located on the NevskyProspekt, 5, in St. Petersburg is a great cultural learning experience and a must-see in the city.

There are displays of different cultural traditions all around the world regarding death. Right at the entrance you will meet the cheerful skull from Mexico. You will get acquainted with the gods of death in Nigeria and Egypt and see the spirit of death in Hong Kong.

Other exhibits on display are the death masks from the Vatican, fashion skeletons from Italy, and a collection of bizarre tombstones and urns from around the world. What makes visiting a museum a fun experience is that after being a guest of Death, you will leave there alive.
