Coordination and cooperation between the two countries in international and regional affairs have become closer.

Chinese and German leaders regularly discuss expanding cooperation during multilateral diplomatic activities, particularly within the G20, highlighting efforts to build greater consensus on both sides.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that Germany wants to strengthen multilateralism with China and she is looking forward to her visit to China in a podcast published on May 19.

Ties between the two countries have weathered global upheavals with joint efforts to handle differences through equal dialogue and friendly consultation, and create mutual support on major global issues such as economic globalization and multilateralism, opposition to protectionism.
