Gourd painter carries forward cultural heritage

Zhang Miao, a 75-year-old artist specializing in paintings on gourds, is an intangible cultural heritage inheritor in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province. Having created over 5,000 artworks over the past two decades, Zhang has expanded his creative themes from traditional Chinese patterns and local cultural symbols to current ones, such as the Beijing Olympic Games.
