Bus wreck retrieved from river in SW China

The bus that plunged into Yangtze River in Chongqing has been lifted out of water at 23:28 Wednesday night, according to local authorities.

Earlier, the black-box recording device from the bus has been found and handed over to local public security bureau.

A bus broke through a guardrail and plunged into the Yangtze River with an estimated 15 passengers on board in Wanzhou, Chongqing on Sunday morning.

So far, nine people are confirmed dead and seven bodies have been recovered. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The bus was located at 71 meters below the river's surface with very underwater situation and limited visibility.
