A Pancake Day race with long history

The traditional Olney Pancake Race in the Buckinghamshire town, is thought to have begun in 1445 after one woman had to run to church with her frying pan containing a pancake because she was late.

Since 1950 Olney has competed against the women of Liberal, Kansas, US in an international race.
