Sima Qian Temple

Located in Shaanxi's Hancheng city, the Sima Qian Temple was built in the fourth year of Yongjia in the Western Jin Dynasty (310) in remembrance of legendary ancient historian Sima Qian (145–90 BC), the writer of Shiji (Records of the Grand Historian), a general history covering more than two thousand years from the Yellow Emperor to his time. He is considered the father of Chinese historiography and his sprit of persistence has exerted great influence on Chinese people.
