An electricity generating company is helping an aboriginal community in Brazil make the transition into the modern era

The aborigines in Mato Grosso, Brazil are the Bororo people and they are a matriarchal society. The Bororo people have been hunting for a living since ancient times, but changes in the external environment have made this difficult.

The transmission line of the Teles Pires Hydropower Station, built by State Grid Brazil Holdings S.A. and Brazil's utility Companhia Paranaense de Energia, passes through the area.
