Over 43 kg of meth seized in Southwest China's Yunnan

KUNMING -- Police in Southwest China's Yunnan province arrested two suspects for drug trafficking and seized 43.1 kg of methamphetamine, local authorities said Wednesday.
Police in Mojiang Hani autonomous county, the city of Pu'er, received a tip-off on May 7 about the impending drug trafficking from Myanmar into China. An investigation team was set up and dispatched to the city of Qujing on the way of transportation.
On May 8, police intercepted a green pickup truck on a highway in Qujing and seized 60 packs of methamphetamine weighing about 43.1 kg and captured two suspects, who are currently under criminal detention.
Further investigation is underway.
Yunnan is a major front in China's battle against drug crime, as it borders the Golden Triangle known for its rampant drug production and trafficking.
