A theater performance was held by the Beijing Aili Myasthenia Gravis Care Center at Beijing's Star Theaters on Jun 14 to showcase stories of people who suffer from myasthenia gravis, ahead of Myasthenia Gravis Care Day which fell on Jun 15.

The performance brought together patients and their family members, doctors, scholars, charitable organizations and others, to attract more attention to myasthenia gravis and people who suffer from it.

Professor Dong Dong from The Chinese University of Hong Kong spoke about myasthenia gravis sufferers in China.

According to her, women are more prone to this disease.

Speaking further about the disease, she said: "The sufferers find it difficult to see things clearly, make expressions, move hands and feet and do many other things that normal people can easily do."

Theoretically, patients can return to ordinary life after receiving treatment, but most of them suffer because of the high cost of treatment and their inability to work due to the disease.

Patient Liu Dongxue told her story about how she overcame the disease.
