China's top legislature schedules bi-monthly session

BEIJING-- China's top legislature will convene its bi-monthly session from June 25 to 29, according to a statement issued after a chairpersons' meeting Monday.

Li Zhanshu, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, presided over the meeting.

Attendees of the meeting suggested that legislators would review the draft law on vaccine administration.

Two new draft sections on marriage and family and inheritance of the civil code will also be reviewed.

They will also deliberate on draft revisions to land administration and urban real estate administration.

They will deliberate on a bill on a draft amendment to the forest law, submitted by the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the NPC, and bills on the draft community correction law, password law and curbing solid waste pollution law, submitted by the State Council.

They will consider a State Council report on 2018 final accounts and an audit report for the central government's 2018 budget, fiscal revenue and expenditures, as well as examine and approve the central government's final accounts in 2018.

They will review reports on cultural industry development, implementation of Law on Promoting Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises, and Li's visit to Norway, Austria and Hungary.

The lawmakers will also deliberate on a report on deputy qualifications and review official appointments and dismissals, the statement said.
