BEIJING - A symposium was held Wednesday in Beijing to commemorate the birth centenary of late non-communist party leader Wang Guangying.

Li Zhanshu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), attended the symposium and met Wang's family and relatives prior to the event.

Wang was an excellent representative of China's modern industrial and commercial entrepreneurs, a former vice-chairman of the NPC Standing Committee and a former vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Commemorating Wang's glorious life at the event, You Quan, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, urged people to learn from Wang's character and spirit of following the Party as a compatriot, a reformist and an entrepreneur in contributing to the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.
