Although being bitterly judged as a singer who over-delivers the messages in tango lyrics, Giovanna still stuck to the way she performed as she believes tango can be anything but never light, especially the lyrics.

"Tango lyrics can talk about humanity as a whole. You can find some well-written ones, which are very heavy. They convey important messages that can reach the deep places within you," the singer said.

Tango lyrics, often composed by tango poets, are poems at heart. The plaintive verses tell of heartache and nostalgia, of family ties and friendship, and of philosophical reflections on life and death.

With two albums under her belt, Tango in 2007 and Tangoxidado in 2010, the artist won accolades for her carefully selected repertoire, featuring both the tango classics and the great ones that are not duly spread.
