Internet, data boosting agriculture

AirAG Technology Ltd, a company focusing on providing agricultural data service, has launched an e-commerce platform for agricultural products, based on its abundant and efficient collection of agricultural big data.

The newly launched platform will help provide an innovative and constructive solution to tracing agricultural products to their source, according to Yi Binghong, chief executive officer of AirAG.

"Our major effort is to provide standardized agricultural products and trace their source to ensure high quality and safety," Yi said.

Based on its self-innovated smart facilities, including the world's first wireless agricultural panoramic monitoring product called AGTrace, AirAG has provided services to nearly 2,000 agricultural planting bases nationwide.

"Such services will help consumers trace products to their source, which will be traded on the online platform," Yi said.

Moreover, the platform will help farmers develop their own agricultural brands, according to Yi.

According to the information center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, China currently has more than 4,000 online trading platforms for agricultural products.

"China's e-commerce of agricultural products will enter a high quality and digital development period, based on the booming technologies of the internet of things, big data and cloud computing," said Wang Xiaobing, director of the information center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
