Road accident kills 7 in western Russia

Seven people were killed and another 28 were injured as a result of the road accident.

MOSCOW -- Seven people have been killed in a bus-truck collision in the Yaroslavl region in the west of Russia on Saturday, the regional office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.

The accident occurred at 10:45 am Moscow time (0745 GMT) when a bus collided with a truck on a highway in the region, 350 km north of Moscow, according to a statement by the ministry.

As a result of the accident, seven people were killed and another 28 were injured, the statement said.

Ministry personnel are currently working at the scene to carry out rescue operations, according to the ministry.
