More than 100 residents of Hong Kong, mostly young people, awakened the city on early Tuesday morning by sending their best wishes to the nation and the city at Wan Chai’s Golden Bauhinia Square.
They sang the Chinese national anthem, while holding a huge national flag. The voluntary move is part of similar actions by Hong Kong residents in response to the recent rift and discord that have resulted from escalating violence and vandalism in the city since June.
Their enthusiasm drew a big number of passersby to join in the singing.
