China has released new guidelines to establish and improve entrepreneurs' participation in the policymaking mechanism for enterprises, in a move to better cater to market demand, according to the country's top economic planner.

"Without sufficient research and listening to abundant suggestions, some policies will not function as well as they could, which also will affect the regular production of management of enterprises," said Meng Wei, spokeswoman for the National Development and Reform Commission. "Thus, it is urgent to introduce such a document to meet enterprises' expectations.

Meng made the remarks on Wednesday at a NDRC news conference held in Beijing.

Meng noted the new guidelines help clarify the institutional and normative requirements for entrepreneurs to participate in design-related policies.

"It is necessary to fully listen to entrepreneurs' opinions in the process of research and enterprise-related policymaking. It is a key measure to create a stable and transparent environment and ensure policies are better coordinated and implemented meticulously." Meng added.

In the next step, NDRC said it will work with all regions and relevant departments to carry out the guidelines, to promote entrepreneurship and foster high-quality development in the nation.
