Farmers used 100 tons of chili peppers and corn to form a large national flag and Chinese map on Sept 23 at the red pepper drying base in Heli township, Gaotai county of Northwest China's Gansu province.

They did so at the second Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival, where they sang the song Me and My Motherland together and welcomed the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

Gaotai is the main pepper region in Gansu and its produce is sold to Sichuan, Hunan, Hong Kong and elsewhere.
