ISTANBUL, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- More than 800 Chinese books on the latest research results in humanities and social sciences and the great achievements made in China in the past 70 years appeared on Saturday at the 38th International Istanbul Book Fair.

The books in Chinese, English and Turkish as well as Chinese calligraphy practice and tea ceremony drew crowds to the China stand, including students.

Among the books are those for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, which tell of the country's great achievements in such fields as politics, economy, culture and military.

Some Turkish publishers visited the China stand and had exchanges with their Chinese counterparts. The Chinese and Turkish publishers also met over copyrights trade.

Cui Wei, Chinese consul general in Istanbul, visited the China stand.

It is the seventh time for Chinese publishers to join the Istanbul book fair, which started in the 1980s and has become one of the largest in the Middle East region.
