New York goes green at botanical garden show

Every winter, the New York Botanical Garden hosts its Holiday Train Show. At this show, visitors can see adorable miniatures of trains, bridges, and buildings in NYC.
Model trains navigate crafted miniatures of New York City's environment, made entirely out of plants. The Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and Yankee Stadium are among more than 175 landmarks that form a fantastically rendered city landscape built from seeds, bark, leaves and twigs, serviced by a half-mile of track.

This year iconic landscapes from Central Park are in the spotlight. A miniature of Belvedere Castle and other architectural treasures can also be seen. The show will also have miniatures of the World Trade Center and the historic Battery Maritime Building with two vintage ferries.
In addition to the model trains, boats and landmark exhibits, the Holiday Train Show offers arts and crafts for kids, Bar Car Nights for parents, concerts and performances for all ages.
