SKOPJE - Greece fully supports North Macedonia on its path toward full accession to the European Union (EU), visiting Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said here on Tuesday.

"We have a joint future, if we act in good faith. Greece supports the EU accession of North Macedonia and other Western Balkan countries. This is our common goal. Starting talks will be a significant step forward, and it's one of Greece's main goals," Dendias said at a news conference after meeting his counterpart of North Macedonia Nikola Dimitrov.

Dendias said that the Prespa agreement, which solved the long-standing name dispute between the two countries, is a "done deal" and that it requires full implementation.

He said that after the signing of the agreement in June 2018, there has been dramatic improvement in the bilateral relations.

Dimitrov agreed on this. "Greece is our strategic partner, neighbor, and friend. The Prespa Agreement has opened a huge cooperation potential that needs to be utilized," Dimitrov said.
