Police and firefighters entered Hong Kong Polytechnic University Thursday morning at the request of university authorities to dispose of explosives and dangerous items left behind by radical protesters who occupied the campus for more than 10 days. Police said the focus of the operation was on removing hazardous items that are a threat to public safety, and to gather evidence of "malicious" damage to campus facilities.
