Marintec China, one of the world's largest and most influential maritime exhibitions, will run its 20th edition from Dec 3 to 6 this year in Shanghai. It will focus on intelligent shipping, environment friendly and cruise ship, said the event organizers.

The biennial event, occupying an exhibition area of more than 90,000 square meters this year, will showcase the latest maritime technology. During the four-day event, an "Innovation, Intelligence and Fusion" forum will be hosted.

"This year marks the 40th anniversary of Marintec China. Despite a global overcapacity of shipping and shipbuilding, Chinese shipbuilders maintained their leading position worldwide in the first 10 months this year by contributing 37.1 percent of ship completion, 41.8 percent new orders, and 44.1 percent of handheld orders," said Xing Wenhua, chairman of Marintec China's organizing committee.

More than 2,200 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions registered to attend the event, and organizers expected to attract more than 65,000 professionals from more than 100 countries and regions.
