"Together with several French speleologists, we developed a road out of the bushes on steep rocks and descended on a rope against the rock like geckos. The hole is so unexpectedly deep that we have to suspend exploration the first day since both the battery of the drill and the ropes were used up," said Chen.

After hanging on the rope for seven hours the second day, Chen’s team finally reached the bottom of the hole.
