East Asian communities in UK targeted with abuse over COVID-19

More cases of xenophobia and racism toward East Asian people have been reported as the novel coronavirus outbreak in the United Kingdom spreads.

Some Chinese and other East Asian students and workers have experienced hate crimes, causing anxiety among their communities.

The Chinese embassy in London recently issued a statement urging that all incidents should be reported to the police, to universities or to local authorities.
