Several galleries in Beijing's 798 art zone have reopened with infection-prevention measures in the hope that art will soothe visitors' souls amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The Ici Labas space is presenting an exhibition titled Salutary Influence on Education, which curator and participating artist Hu Changqiong says highlights the positive roles art and culture play in public education, and encourages people to look back at tradition.

The exhibition presents over 30 paintings by artists from China, Italy and France.

It's the gallery's first show of the year and will run through May 10.

Many works depict landscapes and reflect on interactions between humans and nature. They call upon audiences to re-examine the importance of knowledge, intelligence and culture in a difficult situation.
