COVID-19 cases in Germany top 160,000

BERLIN - Germany reported 1,639 new COVID-19 cases Friday morning, taking its total to 160,758, according to the disease control agency the Robert Koch Institute.

The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Germany has reached 6,481, increasing by 193 over the past 24 hours, while nearly 126,900 people are estimated to have recovered, 3,300 more than the previous day, according to the institute.
