A pop-up booth along Shanghai's Nanjing Road was launched on Tuesday, providing members of the public with free access to music, children's rhymes, comedy recordings and audio books about the city.

The booth, which is equipped with eight pairs of headphones, is the result of a collaboration between online audio platform Ximalaya and the Business Association of Nanjing Pedestrian Road.

The Ximalaya content team has also launched an online library featuring audio books about Shanghai's time-honored brands located on Nanjing Road. The library currently has three episodes about Wang Kai Photography Studio, Shen Da Cheng Restaurant and the Peace Hotel.

"The library will continue to release more episodes in the future," said Shi Ruotian, a Ximalaya staff.

Zhou Lan, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, said the project is a meaningful attempt to merge tourism, culture and business.

The pop-up booth, which is located within Century Square, will last till May 10.
