Chinese customs seize 10.7 kg of endangered species products

LANZHOU — Lanzhou customs of Northwest China's Gansu province said they had busted a case involving the smuggling of endangered wildlife products.

The customs officers found more than 4,300 dried seahorses weighing 10.7 kg while inspecting a traditional Chinese medicine market in Lanzhou, the provincial capital.

Three suspects were detained on suspicion of smuggling wildlife products. Further investigation is underway.

In China, illegally importing, exporting or smuggling products made from endangered wild animals and plants will be punished in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
