A technician with the State Grid Corp of China examines cables on the 500kilovolt power line stretching 50 kilometers between Zhoushan, an island city, and Ningbo in Zhejiang province on Aug 16. The project triples the previous transmission capacity. More than 33 km of the line is overground and it is supported by 59 pylons, with the highest at 380 meters, a world record.
