Shanghai school rings in holiday

Shanghai Liaoyuan Bilingual School organized all students and teachers from home and abroad to celebrate National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival on Sept 30.

This year's National Day coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on the 15th day of the Chinese lunar calendar's eighth month. Both fall on Oct 1 this year.

In hanfu, the traditional clothing of the Han ethnic group, senior students gathered on the playground to draw on a long scroll painting to celebrate National Day, as well taking photographs with a huge national flag. Junior students learned how to make mooncakes at the school's canteen.
