Many students said that learning guzheng in New Zealand is a rare opportunity. Tingting, a local resident with Chinese origin, said her enthusiasm for practicing at home had infected her daughter, who is now taking guzheng classes with her.

Learning to play a musical instrument not only strengthened the bond between the mother and daughter, but also made Tingting realize the global influence of traditional Chinese music.
