Scenic Tianchi Lake begins to freeze

With falling temperatures at Changbai Mountain Scenic Area in Yanbian county, Jilin province, Tianchi Lake has begun to freeze.

The scene, which includes the rippled surface of the lake, attracts many tourists and photographers.

"It's about a week earlier than last year," said Wu Jinming, a staff member at the scenic area. "The lake is expected to freeze over before Thursday. Visitors will have a different feeling then."

A tourist from Guangdong province said, "I feel so lucky to see such beautiful scenery on my first visit to the Changbai Mountain. Despite the extremely cold weather, it is really worth visiting."
