China will step up efforts to expand free trade agreements with high-level standards, to improve the interplay of domestic and foreign markets and resources, in pursuit of the dual-circulation strategy, said Gao Feng, spokesman of Ministry of Commerce.

"China is willing to sign more free trade agreements with trading partners, to jointly promote trade and investment fertilization and liberalization," he said.

The country will facilitate China-Japan-Republic of Korea free trade agreement negotiations, as well as those with the China-Gulf Cooperation Council, China-Norway and China-Israel FTAs, while providing active consideration to joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, he added.

He also said China will strengthen efforts to explore free trade rules that are internationally accepted while also meet China's reform and development needs, to achieve higher-level opening up.

China will reduce more tariffs to zero in goods trade and further ease market access for services trade and investment, he said, adding the country will proactively participate in rule-setting negotiations in fields such as the digital economy and environmental protection.

Besides, China will strengthen promotion and training on FTAs to ensure enterprises and people benefit more from them, he said.
