Thrown together by surgery, couple fall in love

Wang said he lost his heart to Shu at first sight.

Three months after surgery, Wang had lost more than 50 kilograms; Shu had lost 45.

Their feelings for one another ramped up quickly after months of chatting about post-operative nutrition and other subjects. They've added many friends on WeChat, all of them gastrectomy patients.

"The surgery worked well for me. I feel much more relaxed and outgoing," Wang said.
