HONG KONG -- A Hong Kong court on Thursday kept 47 people charged with "conspiracy to subvert the state power" in custody.

They were suspected of breaching the national security law in Hong Kong for organizing or participating in the so-called "primary election" last year.

Their case was adjourned to May 31.

The defendants, arrested in January, include anti-China disruptors Benny Tai Yiu-ting and Joshua Wong, as well as former lawmakers Wu Chi-wai, Lam Cheuk-ting and Alvin Yeung.
