Autistic children present spectacular show

Friday was designated World Autism Awareness Day. To raise public awareness, a spectacular LED light show and 48 works of art by autistic children were presented in the evening on the exterior of Tianjin Tower — the city's iconic 415.2-meter-tall TV tower built over a lake.

Background music for the light show was provided by the group of children playing pianos. An online talk show was broadcast simultaneously from a library 257 meters above ground level in the tower to share the experiences of autistic children and boost society's understanding.

According to the World Health Organization, one in every 160 children is autistic.
