Every summer, nomadic herdsmen in Ar Horchqin Banner in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region migrate with their livestock to fresh pastures, creating a grand scene.
More than 3,000 herdsmen have taken 125,000 head of cattle and sheep since mid-June to summer pastures 100 kilometers away. They travel three different routes, providing a visual feast — a teeming tide of life — over the next few months.
With an area of about 333,000 hectares, the grassland in the banner was enrolled as a major agricultural and cultural heritage of China in 2014.
