Zhangjiajie lifts traffic restrictions

Zhangjiajie in Central China's Hunan province lifted traffic restrictions at 8 am on Wednesday after 23 days of lockdown due to the latest COVID-19 outbreak in the renowned tourist city.

Starting at 8 am, the whole city is classified as a low-risk area for COVID-19; all traffic bayonets in the city are removed; and chartered tourist buses, urban public transport and taxi services resumed operation, according to the notice from the city's COVID-19 prevention and control office.

The city reported one confirmed locally transmitted case of COVID-19 on July 29. It closed all its tourist sites and upgraded risk levels for COVID-19 the next day.
