Almost 500 Chinese ambassadors and more than 2,000 counselors have graduated from the university, earning it the reputation of being the "the cradle for diplomats of the People's Republic of China", he said.

"We deeply believe that whether it is to solve China's problems with world's wisdom or to solve global issues with Chinese plans, whether it is to further promote China's opening-up or to enable the world to better understand China, BFSU has never taken a back seat and will continue to play an important role."

The university will nurture more talents with deep patriotism and global mindset and competence, who can shoulder the great responsibility for national rejuvenation and do not fail the high expectations from the Party and the people, he said.

BFSU will build itself into one offering world-leading language service, telling well the Chinese story and enabling global governance. It also will explore global language intelligence development, reform global language education and lead the innovation among language universities worldwide, he added.
