China is both capable and confident in achieving the goals and tasks set for this year with the nation's economic growth showing strong resilience and vitality, Premier Li Keqiang said on Thursday.

In a keynote speech delivered at the opening of the 130th session of the China Import and Export Fair in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, Li noted China's economy is on track for a sustained and stable recovery, and major indicators are now within an appropriate range.

The nation added over 9 million urban jobs in the first eight months of this year, and the number of newly registered market players reached 70,000 on a daily basis, he said.
