The section of the Yujiang River that flows through the town of Wendou in Lichuan, Hubei province, presents striking views at this time of year as the trees — which grow in the water — turn red, forming a striking contrast with the green water.

Originating in Lichuan, the Yujiang River flows into the Wujiang River in Chongqing. The river basin features not only rich natural views but also historical and cultural resources such as diaojiaolou, the suspended wooden houses created by the ethnic Tujia and Miao people.
