The hospitals in Shanghai that suspended offline outpatient services due to COVID-19 prevention and control measures late last week have resumed normal operations, the municipal government announced on Monday.

More than 20 hospitals were affected by the latest wave of infections in the city.

Shanghai reported three locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed cases on Nov 25. Many hospitals started implementing closed-loop management on that day as some close contacts of the cases had visited their premises, according to the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission.

An asymptomatic COVID-19 case, a close contact of one of the confirmed cases reported on Nov 25, was identified in Shanghai on Saturday. No other case has been reported.

"We've been successful in providing medical services to the public even during the closed-loop management due to the active cooperation of the public and the medical institutions' efforts in making full use of their online resources," the city government said.
