Full Text: Remarks by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Virtual Summit to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Central Asian Countries

President Xi Jinping chaired a summit held on Tuesday via video link to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and five Central Asian countries, and delivered an important speech.

The five Central Asian countries are the former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Xi highlights keys to successful cooperation

Xi said that the keys to the successful cooperation between China and five Central Asian countries are mutual respect, good neighborliness and friendship, solidarity, and mutual benefit.

The four principles are valuable experience and shared wealth for the countries, and serve as political guarantees for stable and lasting relations between China and the five countries as well as the source of strength for friendly exchanges in the future, Xi said.

Leaders look forward to attending Beijing Winter Olympics

Leaders of the five Central Asian countries said that they eagerly look forward to attending the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics next week.
