More than 500 pigeons in People's Square of Shanghai's Huangpu district have been left unattended due to the impact of the citywide lockdown.

With the help of surrounding markets and shops, the police of Nanjing East Road police station collected surplus rice to feed the hungry pigeons.

The pigeons are fed at noon and dinnertime every day, and on-duty police enjoy the short break from their normal responsibilities.
