A dozen Chinese students and their counterparts from Iran, Ethiopia and Russia got a close-up look at historical structures in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, on Aug 2.

They took a lift to see the upper structure of the Baoguo Temple and experience the making of artifacts with mortise and tenon joint.

The event was part of a learning program at the Baoguosi Ancient Architecture Museum to promote public understanding of traditional Chinese culture, especially as regards ancient architecture.

The program offers dozens of courses featuring seasonal elements. Students can also make artifacts to better appreciate the spirit of craftsmanship.
